We rebranded. Why haven’t sales changed?
A rebrand can improve how buyers understand and value a business. Sales still depend on the offer, demand, the buying experience, and what happens after the inquiry. Before changing the brand again, find where the decision is breaking down.
Did the work address the right problem?
If buyers misunderstood your expertise, a new logo alone may leave that misunderstanding intact. If qualified buyers already understood the value but could not justify the purchase, the obstacle may sit elsewhere.
Review the original diagnosis. What did you expect people to believe or do differently? If that was never clear, start there.
Follow the buyer’s decision.
- Understanding
- Can a new prospect explain what you do, who it is for, and why it matters?
- Confidence
- Do relevant examples and proof support the promise, or are buyers being asked to take your word for it?
- Adoption
- Do the website, proposals, and sales team tell the same story? Check the materials people actually use.
- Opportunity
- Are enough qualified buyers seeing the offer? Review demand, distribution, and follow-up alongside the brand.
Separate a slow result from the wrong measure.
Compare qualified inquiries, recurring objections, conversion, and realized pricing with a pre-launch baseline. Allow for your normal sales cycle and changes in spend, seasonality, and the offer.
Attention can move before revenue does. It can also rise without attracting better-fit buyers. Our rebranding ROI guide separates early signals from commercial outcomes.
Fix the break you can identify.
A team that has not adopted the messaging needs support using it. A weak proposal may need clearer proof. An offer buyers do not want needs a business decision. Another identity change would miss those problems.
If buyers still place you in the wrong category or cannot see your value, revisit the perception gap. Motif’s Diagnostic establishes what needs to change before we recommend the scope.
